International Jazz day with Randy Brecker

Celebrate International Jazz Day with Renown Trumpeter Randy Brecker

Red Bank will be a focus of the global jazz world as legendary trumpeter and seven-time Grammy winner Randy Brecker will be the featured artist at Jazz Arts Project’s International Jazz Day celebration. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization declared this day, April 30, as an annual, global celebration of jazz.  The event will be held at Red Bank’s Triumph Restaurant and Brewing Co. beginning at 6:30PM.

The concert will be a fundraiser to help ensure the future of the organization’s various education programs. The organization will also present its annual Jazz Arts Hero awards (The Jazzys) This year’s recipients include Former Councilwoman and jazz aficionado Kathy Horgan as well as our guest artist Randy Brecker.

The Jazz Arts Academy is the premier jazz training program in the region. The Academy provides expert musical mentoring for youth ages 13-18, by world-class jazz artists who pass down the joy of jazz to future generations. Students receive training in general musicianship, ensemble playing, and improvisational skills. Academy students showcase the music skills they have honed at festivals and events during the year, including an appearance at this International Jazz Day event.
