Mission & Structure

Jazz Arts Academy is a specialized, year-round music education program under the auspices of the non-profit organization, Jazz Arts Project.

In a unique non-profit model this parent organization curates & produces world-class professional jazz performances in order to fund music-education programs for area youth in the central/south shore region of NJ.  The unique qualities inherent in all of our events are the high caliber, nationally and internationally known professional musicians in performance roles as well as role models, mentors, coaches and educators.

Jazz Arts Project presents, performs, educates and preserves the important legacy, influence and role of jazz music in all its forms, from classic to contemporary, for the enrichment of diverse local, regional, and statewide constituencies through collaborative community outreach efforts, high quality professional performances, as well as educational workshops, and other programs for area youth.

Jazz Arts Project is a non-profit, 501(c) 3, professional presenting organization which traditionally produces 25 to 30 events each year from intimate jazz cafe nights through large scale events at concert halls such as the Count Basie Theater, as well as educational workshops, training programs, specialized music camps and other special programs for youth.

For more than a dozen years Jazz Arts Project has been a leading force in honoring, preserving, presenting and helping to insure the future of America’s classical music; Jazz.  We are proud to report that our year-round concert presentations and annual events also help us to fund unique music education programs with an emphasis on those from at-risk and under served communities.
